This 100 percent online degree program is offered through Canvas, OSU’s online learning platform. You can enroll part-time or full-time. New cycles begin each semester – fall, spring and summer. Students enrolled full-time take two to three courses every eight weeks and can expect to complete their degree in two to three semesters. Part-time students take one course every eight weeks and can expect to complete their degree in four to six semesters.

A registered nurse license from your intended US residence that provides 30 advanced credit hours toward a degree or associate nursing certificate is required for entry. Completion of prerequisite courses prior to commencing nursing studies at OSU is encouraged. If you start a nursing course before. completion of all prerequisites, time may be extended until completion of the degree.
The courses include nursing theory, global health, research and community nursing as well as a comprehensive overview of cultural principles, leadership and management and current trends and issues in the profession. Epidemiology and gerontology are also included in the curriculum. The program ends with a foundation course. Two courses include a clinical component where students complete clinical assignments according to their schedule in convenient areas of their choice.
OSU offers online undergraduate programs in a course-level format, meaning that students who take 12-18 hours will be charged the same block rate as if they took 12 to 18 hours per semester. This helps students shorten the time it takes to get their degree and helps with financial budgeting. In addition, OSU accepts transfer credit and all undergraduate students are eligible for scholarships offered through the college and university. The curriculum at OSU-COM emphasizes the integration of medical science and clinical systems. The curriculum includes early clinical experiences with patients, patient examples and narratives. Teaching methods are student-centered and include traditional lectures, small group and team learning. Problem solving and information retrieval skills are emphasized to generate and develop skills that support lifelong learning. The OSU-COM culture encourages students to form professional relationships with faculty members and physicians in the community. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of biomedicine with the behavioral and health sciences to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of clinical work and develop a holistic approach to the treatment of patients and their families. Third- and fourth-year OSU-COM students have the opportunity to do rotations at our teaching hospital and throughout the state of Oklahoma. OSU-COM offers a specialized rural medicine elective (RMT) track that prepares medical students to specialize in rural primary care and practice successfully. Key components of the RMT are rural clinical education and an orientation research component focused on contemporary rural health issues. OSU-COM offers electives that prepare medical students to specialize in primary care and to practice successfully in rural, tribal, or urban settings. DO/MS in Health Services Administration – Dual Degree in Orthopedics and Health Services Administration. Five-year degree program.
This dual degree program is an excellent educational choice for students interested in pursuing a career in medical research and/or academic medicine. Students must apply and be accepted to the DO and PhD programs in the same cycle. Students complete four to five years of doctoral program graduate study, research, and dissertation before graduating into a traditional DO program.

National Student Exchange
OSU-COM sends supplemental applications to all applicants after receiving their verified AACOMAS applications. All university and candidate interview committee interviews are by invitation only and subject to further scrutiny. The application must be complete before receiving an interview invitation. After the interview at the university, candidates are notified of the admission decision by phone or email.
In recommending applicants for admission, the college considers all factors, including pre-academic academic achievement, evaluations from pre-academic committees and osteopathic physicians, MCAT results, data obtained in college interviews and the student’s motivation for the work of osteopathic medicine. The College is looking for proven scholarship, talent and motivation to be accepted into the program. The admissions committee recommends candidates for admission. The final selection of candidates for admission is made by the Dean. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements to be considered for admission. Temporary offers may be extended to allow for the completion of advanced/planned studies.
